vodka / Monetization
How to make money with your Roblox scripts. Creator-direct, no middleman.
An honest guide to monetizing a Roblox script: connect your own ad-link provider as a key-claim step, keep every cent, and protect the revenue with revocation and leak tracing.
The short version
The money reaches you directly.
The common way to earn from a free script is to put a monetized step in front of the key. A player completes a short ad-link or content-locker step from a provider like work.ink, LootLabs or Linkvertise, the provider pays you for that completion, and then the player gets their key. The script stays free to the player and the provider is the one that pays.
On vodka that relationship is yours, not ours. You connect your own provider account as a key-claim step. The provider pays you directly, and vodka verifies completion on the server so the step cannot be click-skipped. vodka takes no cut and holds none of your money. Read how creator earnings work for the mechanics, or confirm it is free either way.
Set it up
Turn a key claim into a paid step.
Monetization is a task in your key flow, not a separate product. You configure it the same place you set key lifetimes and HWID rules:
- Create an account with an ad-link provider and get your link or integration details from their dashboard.
- Add it as a free-key task in your script's key flow, so claiming a key runs through your monetized step.
- Let vodka verify completion server-side, which is what stops a player skipping straight to the key.
- Keep your payout settings and analytics in the provider's dashboard, since that is who pays you.
If you are weighing providers, read work.ink vs LootLabs vs Linkvertise before you commit, because the fit with your audience matters more than any single feature.
Keep players
Do not gate so hard that people leave.
Every step between a player and their key costs you some of them. A short, honest claim converts far better than a wall of offers, and a reputation for a clean key flow is worth more over time than squeezing one more step in. Pick a key lifetime that fits the script rather than forcing constant re-claims, and tell players plainly what the step is.
Be honest in your own metrics too. A link visit is not verified membership and a delivery is not an execution. vodka distinguishes authorized deliveries from client-reported starts rather than dressing one up as the other, so the numbers you optimize against are real.
Protect the revenue
A leaked script is lost income, so make leaks recoverable.
If your script is copied and re-hosted for free, your monetized step is cut out of the loop. You cannot make copying impossible, but you can make it costly and traceable:
- Protect the code so a casual copy is harder to read and reuse. See how to protect a Luau script.
- Lock keys to devices with HWID locking so one claimed key is not shared across a whole server.
- Trace leaks. Each keyed delivery carries a per-key fingerprint, so a casually leaked copy maps back to the key that received it.
- Revoke the key behind a leak, which turns a permanent loss into a one-time one.
Questions
A few things worth knowing.
01Does vodka take a cut of what I earn?
No. vodka takes no cut and never holds your money. You connect your own work.ink, LootLabs or Linkvertise account, and that provider pays you directly. The platform stays out of the money entirely.
02How does vodka stop players skipping the paid step?
Completion is verified on the server before a key is issued, so a player cannot click straight past the monetized task to the key. The provider still handles the payout; vodka just confirms the step actually happened.
03Which provider should I use?
That depends on your audience, region and how much friction you are willing to add, not on a number we can publish for you. All three are supported as a key-claim step. Compare how each fits a key flow in our guide before you pick one.
04What happens if my script gets leaked?
A leak routes players around your paid step, so it costs you income. You cannot prevent copying entirely, but protection makes it harder, HWID locks limit sharing, per-key leak tracing points at the source, and revocation lets you cut off the specific key behind a leak.
